We promise to check the mail account here regularly from now on. We missed posting Hank's Birthday Ppicture in the Birthday section..so today Hank gets the front page! Happy Birthday Hank, and I see liver treats in your future.

Hurricane Earl is coming.......
Hopefully everyone has been getting prepared to batten down the hatches. Even if Earl doesn't make landfall on our side of the province, the winds will be fierce and there is a good chance we may lose power. In that vein, the following is Chandler's checklist to stay safe;
1) Fill your car up with gas --no electricity means no working pumps
2) Have cash in your paw. Credit and debit wont work.
3) Fill the bar b q tanks
4) Get batteries for flashlights, radios etc.
5) Have candles and matches/lighter at hand
6) Clear off decks and patios of anything that can move
7) Pack a small emergency case for your 4 footed friends in case you have to evacuate your home. This should include any meds they need, 3 tins of food and dry food, treats and a large bottle of water. Emergency aid always has food for humans, but our furry buddies need to be taken care of. ( Also remember to pack 4 days of any meds you may need)
8) Have enough drinking water for 4 days per person. 1 gallon per person per day.
9)If you MUST go to the grocery store, buy canned goods only. If the power goes out you will eating everything in the fridge and freezer first anyway
10) My favorite--make sure you have wine/beer to sip as you are watching the storm!
Stay safe everyone,..and see you all after the storm!
Woof!
PS...Hank says make sure to buy a large steak, so that your fur kids have to help you eat it before it goes bad.
